8th Contact Group of the Sahel Coalition was held on Thursay, December 8, 2022

 

Dr. Djimé Adoum, High Representative of the Coalition for the Sahel, invited members of the Sahel Coalition to a senior officials meeting.

 

After introductory remarks by the High Representative of the African Union for Mali and the Sahel, Ambassador Sidikou, the Executive Secretary of the G5 Sahel, Ambassador Tiaré, the EU Special Representative for the Sahel, Ms Del Re, and the representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Mr Behnke, the agenda was how best to address political, security and humanitarian emergencies in the Sahel.

 

The meeting was followed by with a closed workshop to discuss partners’ proposals   which will feed into the Joint Sahel Assessment (JSA) of  the Independent High Level Panel coordinated by the former President of the Republic of Niger, H.E.M. Issoufou.
