Mission of the High Representative to Paris

29 April 2025

From April 14 to 15, the High Representative of the Coalition for the Sahel, H.E. Mr. Hamadi Meimou, visited Paris to meet with French authorities and participate in the closed meeting of the Food Crisis Prevention Network (RPCA) of the OECD’s Club of West Africa and the Sahel (CSAO).

On April 14, the High Representative was received by Ms. Diarra Dime-Labille, Advisor on Africa and Diaspora Affairs to the President of the French Republic. He then met with H.E. Christophe Guilhou, Special Envoy for the Sahel. Discussions focused on the current political and security dynamics in the Sahel, as well as the marked deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the escalation of violence against civilians. In this worrying context, the need to consolidate international and regional coordination was highlighted.

On April 15, as part of the RPCA meeting, the High Representative spoke at the panel discussion on “Rethinking food system development strategies in the face of geopolitical and financial challenges in the Sahel and West Africa.” He also met with Ms. Nana Touré, Director of the CSAO Secretariat, to discuss prospects for joint work.
