The High Representative’s mission to Qatar

On 28 April 2025, the High Representative of the Coalition for the Sahel, His Excellency Mr Hamadi Meimou, was received in Doha by H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar. Qatar is a key partner of the Coalition, notably through its sustained diplomatic engagement and its role in fostering political dialogue in the Sahel.

The discussions centred on the latest developments in the region, where deep-rooted challenges in security, governance, and socio-economic development continue to shape the Sahel’s trajectory. Both sides emphasised the need for a coordinated and inclusive approach to tackling the complex and interlinked crises affecting the Sahel.
